Your Personal Golf Score Book

Description

  • The aim of golf is to hit your ball into a series of holes in as few a strokes as possible.
  • Golf courses have what is called par or bogey for each hole.
  • That is, that hole can be taken in the number designated by its par.
  • A hole of length up to 225 yards is a par 3 hole.
  • From 225 to 425 yards is par 4.
  • From 425 to 600 yards is par 5.
  • Over 6oo yards from tee to hole is a par 6.
  • A number of bird's names are used to state under par scores: A birdie is one under par.
  • Two under par is an Eagle.
  • Albatross or double Eagle is three under par.
  • Then there is the hole-in-one!
  • Do this and you will probably have to buy everyone a drink at the 19th !!!
  • A good golfer would aim to go round the 18 holes in par.
  • A great golfer or a professional aims for under par.
  • A novice golfer is sometimes offered a handicap, in that a number of strokes over par but within their handicap is deemed to be a par round.
  • A minimum set of golf clubs include the following: a putter (to put the ball into the hole on the green), a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, three, five and seven irons, and a three wood, and a driver.
  • A player tees off (puts the ball on a small tee), and drives the ball down the range as far as possible, then using the other clubs aims to put the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible.
  • A round is then doing this either for a nine hole course or an eighteen hole course.
  • Sometimes the round is played with up to three friends, and maybe a wager or bet is placed.
  • At the end of the round, the players may retire to the 19th hole or club house for drinks and a debrief over what happened out there.
  • The aim of this logbook is to remind you of your days spent golfing, with friends and your improvement over time.

Enjoy!
