Not to be missed!'Joe Franklin - Bloomberg RadioSammy Spinelli is a 55 year old, prematurely retired New York advertising executive who never quite achieved his goals. Now living with his second wife Marsha, he is slowly descending into a psychotic malcontent much to the chagrin of his opportunistic younger brother Barney and Lydia, his estranged daughter from a previous marriage. The play opens with a ranting Barney expounding on the current condition of the world. Marsha is used to his rantings but when his younger brother Barney arrives from Florida for a surprise visit it becomes apparent that Sammy is slowly slipping out of reality. There is also the question of how Sammy has been handling, or not handling, the finances. His estranged daughter Lydia is called in by her uncle Barney to try to straighten out the mess and the decision is made by Marsha, Lydia and Barney to commit Sammy to a mental institution for a month long stay to ascertain his condition. This is a gripping drama that explores dynamics that are hidden within many families.
