Synopsis

This work is a result of a process towards generating content for an impending community Short Text Messaging (SMS) project interface managed by The EMC Agenda, a community program for Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya, that is hosted by Kipchumba Foundation. The discussions were undertaken on the program’s WhatsApp platform. Various issues were tackled. They ranged from practical to theoretical exchanges. However, prominence was given to resolving fundamental issues in the society such as insecurity as a result of violent cattle rustling, food insecurity with special focus on modernization of agriculture, and perspectives on eventual industrialization of the county.
