Synopsis

Aedes aegypti is widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions of the planet and is highly adapted to the urban environment that is often found within and around households. The mosquito Ae.aegypti is the main vector of different arboviruses and represents a serious public health problem. It is the main vector of dengue viruses and can play a role as vector of yellow fever virus in the urban cycle. Various larvicides have been used in dengue vector control program. Temephos has been widely used insecticide against controlling Ae.aegypti larvae worldwide and is a World Health Organization recommended insecticide. The present study was performed in the Dengue Vector Research Laboratory (DVRL) Department of Entomology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad to check the residual performance of Temephos 50 EC.
