This booklet contains an oral discourse recorded by Dr Wayne Kublalsingh during a second hunger strike between 2014 and 2015. The strike came after eleven years of activism by citizens in the South Western Peninsula of Trinidad and Tobago, calling on successive Governments to justify and account for a state mega project.This activism included advocacy on the street, in public buildings, on worksites and the establishment of camps in the vicinity of the project and in front of the Prime Minister’s office. It also involved legal and diplomatic actions; as well as sacrifice and prayers, including a twenty-one day first hunger strike at the end of 2012. These actions incurred a number of arrests, including five arrests of Dr Kublalsingh.At the beginning of the strike, Dr Kublalsingh explained that the strike was an act of faith, belief. It was a symbolic placement of the body between the social, economic and ecological assets of the people and the bulldozers, arbitrary planning and state malfeasance.In this essay, Dr Kublalsingh explains the critical role that cosmic power may play in bringing about successful political and economic outcomes; its role in activism and revolution.
