From Top Soldier to Top Chef with "the $10,000 Dish"
Scottie A. Johnson rose through the enlisted ranks from Cannon Crewmember to Drill Sergeant to Top Sergeant, and along the way, he served tours of duty in the war zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. A dedicated career member of the military with no culinary experience (not even as a home cook), Johnson made the surprising decision to enter culinary school after retiring from the service, and from there he went on to renown for his Cajun-inspired Southern fare.
"See Your Route and Run It" offers Chef Scottie's autobiographical sketch and advice for seizing on life's opportunities and learning its lessons, with entertaining stories about his high school and college athletics, his military service, and his rise to prominence as an award-winning chef. As a bonus, Chef Scottie offers readers thirty-two of his favorite flavorful recipes that will convince you his path has brought him right where he needs to be. Be warned, you will become a true believer in the flavor-popping dishes you make.
Chef Scottie is the 2019 Georgia Seafood Champion of the annual Georgia Seafood Festival, where he competed with his creative entries of Seafood Succotash, Tequila Salmon Carre, and Grilled Lobster Opelousas and Squid Ink Pasta. He will bring his superior culinary skills to the World Food Championship Competition. His personal chef service is called Blessed and Highly Flavored Cuisine.
Chef Scottie, his lovely wife, and devoted business partner Lowanda, and their beautiful children live in Warner Robins, GA.
