Over the years, I've heard countless excuses from students for not showing up to class, each one more creative than the last. But it was the infamous "shoelace excuse" that finally inspired me to spill the beans. And mind you, I do have a sense of humor... as you're about to find out.

I've managed a large company for many years, and along the way, I've heard plenty of excuses-some so outrageous they just made me shake my head. So when I was asked to contribute to 101 Excuses-the book Rosalie Merkel had always dreamed of writing-we teamed up and brought it to life together.
