John Franklin, a young man joined the cavalry in the 1870s at Fort Laramie, Wyoming. He finishes his training and was assigned to the 6th Cavalry in Montana and was assigned patrolling the Black Hills borders for trespassers violating the treaty. John, being the best shot was to assign a hunting trip to collect enough fresh meat for the winter for his fort. While hunting next to the Black Hills, John heard a fight between a bear and a brave and check it out. John had his Sharps rifle and saw the Brave holding his own. Suddenly, the bear knock down the Brave and John did a headshot. John bandaged the Brave head wound he received from the bear. The Brave introduced himself as Crazy Horse, Chief of the Sioux. John introduces himself as Cpl. John Franklin. John Puts Crazy Horse on his horse and takes him to his village. Next, John becomes blood brother to Crazy Horse and when Crazy Horse is well enough, he goes hunting with John in the Black Hills. When John returns home with two pack mules loaded with fresh meat, he sergeant is impressed and after hearing John story, he takes John to the captain. Then is taken to see General Crook. The General visits and reviews John file and is impressed with his young corporal and has his captain put John in charge of the patrols. John is successful and trespassers are turned over to the cavalry and not killed. John is promoted to sergeant. Then the good times are over when gold is discovered in the Black Hills in 1878. Crazy Horse had to leave the Black Hills and relocated in Wyoming in the Bighorn and the Little Bighorn areas and the Indian wars started. A young Brave Name Black Bear volunteer as a Shoshone Scout and John interview him and was impressed and hired him. Then the 6th Cavalry engaged the Sioux and Cheyenne at Rosebud Creek. After a six hour battle, General Crook declared a victory and John and Black Bear were award the solders meatal and a land grant for bravery on the battlefield. John retired from the cavalry having served his twenty years as a Master Sergeant and Black bear as a sergeant. Black Bear settles in at Pine valley with the two sections of land while John is a US Marshall for the western territory of Wyoming. John retires as US Marshall in 1897 and is married and has a girl, Carol, a boy, Bob, and Pat another girl. When Carol was twenty, she was running the ranch and could ride, rope and shoot with best of their wangers. Later, when Carol was sheriff of Pinedale some bad element moved into Pinedale and become suspicious of a ranch and a senator and called for help. Jean Webb showed up and Carol was glad to see her friend and they got busy and flush the bad guys out in the open and the fleeing ranch and the murdering senator have created a world manhunt. Jean Is chasing after the criminals with the help of the FBI and CIA. Then her friend in the White House has a surprise for Jean and she reaches her ultimate goal in flying.
