Synopsis

Dr. Bernard Jensen lectured throughout the U.S. and around the world about health and nutrition. Early on he would tape record his lectures and then later have them typed up into booklets. He would staple them together and sell them through mail order or at his lectures. There are 21 lecture reprint booklets. The information is as timely today as it was when he started teaching about right living in the early 1940's. I have edited, revised and added to the booklets, but left the flavor of that time period and his distinct voice comes through as the content reflects his speaking more than writing style. Writers tend to stay away from writing like they are speaking when writing a book, but Dr. Bernard Jensen was adamant about his self-published books sounding like he was right there with you while you were reading his work. Lecture Reprint Booklet Number Nine covers his philosophy for living a long healthy life by developing inward calm. The following are quotes from the book:The other day we heard of a man who lived to be 250 years old — Lee Ching Yun was his name. How wonderful to know that a man has lived as long a life as that. He must have been well versed in how to live or he would never have acquired that number of years. We are also told that he lived on herbs, bark, and leaves from trees, and that for 191 years he played tennis. He claimed that the tennis shortened his life somewhat. When we stop and realize what this man has given to the world by his longevity, we cannot help but wonder how much good food and the proper chemical balance in his system contributed to his longevity and just how these chemicals reacted in him during his existence. There are many interesting books we can read which will give us the knowledge we need. The little book, "The Master Of The Inn," by Robert Herrick is excellent.
