Synopsis
Mack is a master auto mechanic and special assistant to the president of a local chain of repair shops in the Washington, DC metro area. One morning on his way to work in his tow truck, he sees a new Mercedes stopped on the side of the Beltway with the flashers on. He pulls over and offers to help the stranded driver. As he approach the car, he sees a beautiful young black woman inside talking on the telephone. When he offers to help, she first ignores him before explaining that she has already called for help, and tells him to leave in a nasty and demeaning manner.It’s obvious that his presence has made her very uncomfortable and she refuses to roll down her window. Mack is a little upset that she didn’t give him the opportunity to try and help. “Damn her!” he said as he walked back to his truck. “That uppity bitch is going to be stranded all morning! Can’t she see that the northbound lane is shut down?” He sat in his truck for a minute trying to decide if he should drive away without telling her that help wouldn’t be coming for a long time. Mack couldn’t help himself. He was naturally a kind person and his grandparents had not raised him to be inconsiderate or vindictive. He decided to try and help her one last time.He finally convince the reluctant owner to let him tow her car to the dealership and drop her off at work. During the ride into the city he tries to strike up a friendly conversation with this fine looking sister. She responds by telling him that he was hired to tow her car, not engage in mindless conversation. After driving in silence for a while. She finally softens and tells Mack her name is Rachel, and that she is from a very well respected family in Atlanta and, is a lawyer at a prestige DC law firm. This is also the same law firm that handles all of his company’s legal work. Mack is smitten by Rachel and believe she is a special women that he is determined to get to know, even though everyone tells him that she is out of his class. Mack is not convinced. “Just because you got a I'll money don’t mean you got class!” he proclaimed.
