Immortality sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Stay young and fit forever, don't worry about major injuries, have a very quick cure to hangovers, and never have to worry about facing consequences. But Miyara is living proof that living forever isn't as great as it's made out to be. Being immortal means she outlives everyone she grows to care about, which understandably leads to her being a standoffish and grouchy sort of person. Honestly, it's amazing that she hasn't gone insane after the past 20,000 years. But luckily for Miyara, no matter how hard she tries to push away everyone around her, there are still plenty of people who will worm their way into her heart, and who will care about her and love her as much as they can. As Miyara grows older, but never grows up, she encounters many interesting people, and has to learn about the world, and the people in it, over and over again as they evolve. Her whole life, Miyara has feared the future, because it always takes everyone and everything away from her. But maybe this time she'll meet the right person who will teach her to embrace the future instead, because it brings happiness with it.
