Synopsis

A body is found up on Shirley Mack Lane in a very distasteful condition. It had been shot, burned and partially eaten by stray dogs. The people in law enforcement and information specialist Joe Pena determined that to ID this guy was going to be quite a chore. Someone is driving the streets of Lakeport killing people's dogs. Witnesses claim that they were mean dogs anyway and the investigation doesn't heat up until one of the owners is killed too. The investigation of the first body suggests that the deceased was a pedophile and everyone suspects that an angry father tried to erase the culprit. Joe Pena loses interest when he gets caught up in a lawsuit by a woman who models undies. He just couldn't keep his nose out of her personal affairs and he was about to lose everything he owned. Joe puts his eye on the dog shooter case and now The Game begins when he finds a suspect that is ready to die, wants to take someone with him and has got his sights on Joe Pena. Funny thing about the long time gum shoe though, he doesn't want to hurt the killer. And! He thinks he's figured out who the killer of the burned up guy is but he doesn't want to hurt that killer either. The girl with the undies doesn't want him getting harmed, she's determined to get what she wants first and no one is going to stop her. No matter how you look at it, Joe is toast just like that guy up on Shirley Mack Lane.
