Synopsis

This project was created to raise the awareness of past practices that have lead to a regression regarding the racial equity in baseball, and to ignite a movement that’ll spark a new found interest and respect for baseball in the inner-city, while petitioning baseball and positioning ourselves to remove those subtle, as well as obvious barriers that have discouraged the participation of American Born Blacks. This book was heavily influenced by my relationship and the contributions of former Negro Leagues player, Reginald Howard who has become a friend, mentor and an educational inspiration in my life. As a player, coach and advocate of the game of baseball, my passion and experiences have encouraged me to be a proactive voice in the name of Black Baseball and a presence that seeks a boost in the demographics as it relates to racial disparity.
