Synopsis

Rational Philosophy In History And In System: An Introduction To A Logical And Metaphysical Course is a book written by Alexander Campbell Fraser in 1858. The book is a comprehensive introduction to the study of philosophy, focusing on the logical and metaphysical aspects of the subject. The author begins by providing a brief history of philosophy, tracing its origins back to ancient Greece and Rome. He then goes on to explore the various schools of thought that have emerged over the centuries, including rationalism, empiricism, and idealism. Fraser also discusses the role of reason in philosophy, arguing that it is the foundation upon which all knowledge is built. He explains how reason can be used to understand the world around us, and how it can be used to solve problems and answer questions. In addition to discussing the history and nature of philosophy, Fraser also explores some of the most important philosophical concepts and theories. He covers topics such as the nature of reality, the relationship between mind and body, and the nature of morality. Overall, Rational Philosophy In History And In System: An Introduction To A Logical And Metaphysical Course is a comprehensive and accessible introduction to the study of philosophy. It provides readers with a solid foundation in the subject, and is an excellent resource for anyone interested in exploring the nature of knowledge, reality, and morality. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Présentation de l'éditeur

This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

Présentation de l'éditeur

Lecture read by me this winter, at the commencement fthe Academical Course, is here expanded, in the form of aT ract on Philosophical Method, in which principles, then announced in a very general way, are more fully unfolded. A few references are also given to the literature of Philo sophy. These are easily multiplied. Most of the books referred to are in the ordinary reading of a philosophical student. They are here introduced to bring the reader immediately under influences, more fitted than any words of mine, to awaken the condition of mind in which the theme of this little work should be weighed.
