Synopsis

The Church In The World, And The Church Of The First-Born: Or An Affectionate Address To Christian Ministers Upholding Oxford Tract Doctrines is a book written by R. B. Seeley and W. Burnside in 1840. The book is an address to Christian ministers who support the Oxford Tract Doctrines, which were a set of religious beliefs and practices that emerged in the 19th century. The authors argue that the Church of England should be more focused on spiritual matters and less concerned with political and social issues. They also stress the importance of personal holiness and the need for ministers to lead by example. The book is written in a warm and affectionate tone, and is intended to encourage and uplift those who are committed to the Oxford Tract Doctrines. Overall, The Church In The World, And The Church Of The First-Born is a thoughtful and thought-provoking work that offers insights into the religious beliefs and practices of the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
