Synopsis

The Galvanic Circuit Investigated Mathematically is a scientific book written by Georg Simon Ohm and published in 1891. The book is a detailed analysis of the mathematical principles behind the behavior of electrical circuits. Ohm, who is known for Ohm's Law, provides a thorough examination of galvanic circuits, including the flow of electricity and the effects of resistance, voltage, and current. He also discusses the properties of different materials used in electrical circuits and their impact on circuit behavior. The book is written in a technical, mathematical language, making it suitable for advanced students and professionals in the field of electrical engineering. Despite its age, The Galvanic Circuit Investigated Mathematically remains a valuable resource for those interested in the fundamental principles of electrical circuits. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.

Présentation de l'éditeur

Oui P9 (V EDITORS PREFACE. A SUFFICIENT reason for republishing anE nglish translation o{ the wonderful book of Professor O. S. Ohm is the difficulty with which the only previous translation (that ofT aylor sS cientific Memoirs) is procurable. Besides this, however, the intrinsic value of the book is so great, that it should be read by all electricians who care for more than superficial knowledge. It is most remarkable to note at this time, how completely Ohm has investigated the subject, and how far in advance of his age he was. It is well said by Chrystal, in his great Encyclopaedia Britannica article onE lectricity, that Ohm rendered a great service to the science of electricity by publishing his mathematical theory of the galvanic circuit. Before his time, the quantitative circumstances of the electric current had been indicated, in a vague way, by the use of the terms intensity and quantity, to which no accurately defined meaning was attached.

Présentation de l'éditeur

This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
