Synopsis

Everyone tells you to tell a better story. This book tells you how and why. Why Story Works and How You Can Make It Work for You offers a practical framework for using story as a strategic communication tool for presentations, meetings, and live events. It breaks down the science behind why story works, explains why storytelling is a critical leadership skill, and demonstrates why narrative increases comprehension and reduces barriers to understanding. You'll learn what makes good stories work; how to develop a narrative strategy for your own stories; how to apply story structure to presentations, meetings, and speeches; how to design slides that support your message instead of competing with it; and how to deliver your story with polish and confidence. This revised edition also includes a new chapter on using AI to draft and refine presentations and speeches. Why Story Works and How You Can Make It Work for You is for professionals who want to connect, engage and persuade-and most of all, communicate with their audiences.
