With 20 years' experience of derivatives and a blend of both technology and legal perspectives, Akber works with financial institutions to create legal risk frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance and business optimisation. This includes the provision of strategic change management advice relating to process and systems for contract data modelling, document assembly, search, information retrieval, know-how and legal opinion management. Akber sits on The Law Society's Technology Law Committee where he chairs the blockchain and smart contracts working group. In 2016, he was recognised as "one of the top ten innovators" in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers' Awards. Akber graduated with first class honours in Computer Science at Cambridge University.
