Synopsis

The Jonny-Cake Papers of Shepherd Tom is a book written by Thom Robinson Hazard and published in 1915. The book is a collection of essays, stories, and reminiscences about life in the Narragansett region of Rhode Island during the 19th century. The title of the book is derived from the famous Narragansett dish, the Jonny-Cake, which is a type of cornbread. The book is divided into two parts, the first part being a collection of essays about the history and culture of Narragansett, and the second part being a collection of stories and reminiscences about the author's childhood and education in the area. The book provides a vivid and detailed picture of life in rural Rhode Island during the 19th century, including descriptions of the landscape, the people, and the customs of the region. The Jonny-Cake Papers of Shepherd Tom is a valuable historical document that provides insights into the social and cultural history of Rhode Island during this period. With A Biographical Sketch And Notes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
