Hardcover. Etat : Good. First Edition. This is the First Edition published in 1887. Hardcover in black cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine. A small tear at the crown of the spine and a small section of the top edge of the front board is worn through toward the corner. Clean, has a good binding, no marks or notations. The memoranda pages in the rear are unmarked. Among other recipes is the "Saratoga Potato", which is the precursor to the potato chip. Many anecdotal stories are contained within and quite entertaining. This is a hard-to-find title for the cookbook collector. Overall, a very nice copy.
