Maria H. Andersen, Ph.D. is the Director of Learning and Research at Instructure. Prior to this position, she taught mathematics at the college level for over a decade. Maria has been involved with professional mathematics organizations at the national level. Several years ago, Maria began conceptualizing the idea of a suite of video games engaging enough to teach algebra to adult college students. Over the last few years, Maria has become an expert on game design, particularly designing for learning contexts in mathematics.
