Synopsis

Dynamic economics, technological changes, increasing pressure from competition and customers to improve manufacturing and services are some of the major challenges to enterprises these days. New ways of improving organizational activities and management processes have to be created, in order to allow enterprises to manage the seemingly intensifying competitive markets successfully. Enterprises apply business optimizing solutions to meet new challenges and conditions. But also ensuring effective development for long-term competitiveness in a global environment. This is necessary for the application of qualitative changes in the industrial policy.

"New Trends in Process Control and Production Management" (MTS 2017) is the collection of research papers from authors from seven countries around the world. They present case studies and empirical research which illustrates the progressive trends in business process management and the drive to achieve enterprise development and sustainability.

Lenka Stofová is an assistant working at the Department of Management of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice. At this faculty she earned her higher education and also a PhD degree (2016). In her active research activities she is the author and co-author of several scientific and professional papers published in　international and national journals registered in Scopus database and conference proceedings. Her research and educational orientation is focused on the management, management systems and enterprise planning, quality, strategic business performance and efficiency mainly in the field of automotive industry. Within her PhD study and work as an assistant she participated in the preparation and realization of several research projects in Slovak republic f.e. for young scientists and other. She was also a member of the Organizing Committee of the 1^st international scientific conference ESPM 2015, the 4^th international scientific conference MTS 2016 and the Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 5^th international scientific conference MTS 2017.

Petra Szaryszová works as an assistant professor at the Department of Management of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice, where she earned her higher education and later a PhD degree (2012) and currently works as a Secretary of the Department. She is a co-author of monographs and textbooks in Slovak Republic and is author and co-author of several scientific and professional articles published in　international and national journals registered in Scopus database and conference proceedings. In her scientific research and educational activities she focuses on the management, management systems, quality, innovation, certification, auditing, enterprise planning, business performance and business ethics. She participated actively in the preparation and implementation of several research projects in Slovak Republic and was the Chairman of Organizing Committee of the 1^st international scientific conference ESPM 2015 and the 4^th and 5^th international scientific conference MTS 2017.
