Schlund-Vials (Associate Professor of English and Asian/Asian American Studies, University of Connecticut, USA) is author of two monographs: Modeling Citizenship: Jewish and Asian American Writing and War, Genocide, and Justice: Cambodian American Memory Work. Her research interests include human rights, critical refugee studies, comparative ethnic studies, Asian American studies, and memory studies.

Samuel Martínez (Associate Professor of Anthropology and Latin American Studies, University of Connecticut, USA) studies the rights mobilizations of Haitian immigrants and Haitian descendants in the Dominican Republic, north-south human rights knowledge exchange, and contemporary anti-slavery reporting.
