Nick Barwick is a group analyst who has worked as a psychodynamic practitioner in the educational, NHS and private sectors for over 20 years. He is currently Head of Counselling at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama where he also teaches on the MA in Music Therapy. In private practice, he works individually with writers, overcoming creative blocks and, in group therapy, with vulnerable young adults experiencing difficulties in 'creative living'. In addition to numerous articles published in psychotherapy journals, he has edited Clinical Counselling in Schools (Routledge) and co-authored The Therapeutic Environment (Open University Press) and Group Music Therapy (Routledge). For many years, he was editor of the Routledge journal, Psychodynamic Practice. He is also a published writer of fiction and a gigging musician.
Martin Weegmann is a consultant clinical psychologist and group analyst, with many years NHS and private experience. He has specialised in substance misuse, personality disorders and other complex needs. He is a well-known trainer, delivering workshops and lectures throughout the UK. Martin edited Psychodynamics of Addiction (Wiley) and Group Psychotherapy and Addiction (Wiley) and has published many book chapters and papers in a range of journals. His two most recent books, The World within the Group: Developing Theory for Group Analysis (Karnac) and Permission to Narrate: Explorations in Group Analysis, Psychoanalysis, Culture (Karnac) have been praised for their originality.
