Reverend William Arnot (1808-1875) was a British author, minister of Free St. Peter's Church, Glasgow and minister of Free High Church, Edinburgh. He was also one of the commissioners of the Free Church of Scotland to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of the United States. His works include: Laws From Heaven for Life on Earth (1857), Roots and Fruits of the Christian Life (1859), The Parables of Our Lord (1865), The Church in the House (1873), This Present World (1873), The Anchor of the Soul and Other Sermons (1876), Autobiography of the Rev. William Arnot (1877) and Lessons From Life: Stories and Teachings for the Young (1878).
