V. of tlu .S vui ol Temperance in Wisconsin for several years, was at the head of the Ordei of Good Templai-s for the world for six ears, has bi-en a Vict -P resident of the Nation;il tempi-rance .S ociety and Publication House from its orj anization to the present time; has been a member of the Executive Connnittt tand TreasiM-t-r of the National Prohibition Party for thirteen vears, and was the party ni minee for member of Conjfress and for Governor of the State. In the interests of the Ti-mperance cause he has spoken in nearly every St;ite in the Lnion, in Great Hrilain and in A ustralia, New Zealand and Tasmania. MRS. HKLKN M. GOTGAR, A. M., was born in Litchfield, .M ich., July 18th, 1843. She attended the free schools until twelve years of atje, when she entered Hillsdale Collei,-e, of which institution she is a yfrailuale. She is a member of (he Hoard of Trustees, beinj the first woman elected to 1h is position, also President of the Moard of Lad Commissioners of this College.
