It was easy to see, upon ever so slight an investigation, that this unusual activity centered in the rustic, ivy-covered village church; for the sound of merry young voices from within was borne out upon the fragrant air through the doors, which stood invitingly open. A glance through them showed a group of the village young people, who, with evergreens and flowers, were making the plain, almost stern walls of the room radiant with beauty.
