""Light on the Path"" is a spiritual book written by Mabel Collins that offers guidance and wisdom for those seeking to embark on a spiritual journey. The book is divided into three parts, each containing a series of aphorisms and meditative passages that aim to help the reader develop their inner consciousness and overcome the obstacles that may arise on the path to enlightenment. Author and theosophist Mabel Collins lived in a London entranced by spiritualism and the occult. From séances and apparitions to secret societies, Egyptology, and arcane Eastern philosophies—all of these subjects intrigued many a city-dwelling Victorian of the middle and upper spheres of London society. Collins was one of them, weaving esoteric teachings into many of her creative works. While writing, she would oftentimes enter a trance-like state, jotting down chapters, notes, and aphorisms during her meditative sojourns. She would go on to call these "inspired" writings, with "Light on the Path" becoming a seminal work in theosophical and esoteric literature. Introduced and edited by Aimee Juarez, author of paranormal romance "The Sitting Room" and the Society of Psychical Studies series, this modest compilation showcases "Light on the Path" along with three of Collins’ inspired works of nonfiction: "Through the Gates of Gold," "The Illumined Way," and "A Cry From Afar."
Mabel Collins (1851-1927) was born in St Peters Port, Guernsey, but spent her adult life in London. She was a journalist and novelist, authoring at least forty-six books in her lifetime. She was also a theosophist and private medium, channeling several works she would consider "inspired" writings.
