The Hermit of the Foreft. IN the romantic foreft of Englewood, which formerly compofed a great part of the county of Cumberland, lived a celebrated hermit, whofe name was Honeitus. He was once a very ccnfiderable farmer, poffeffed of very extenfive lands, and of large flocks and herds; hut the perpetual inroads of the Scots, who frequently plundered the northern parts of England, very much reduced him.
