Synopsis

""Remarks On The Proposed State Constitution And An Address To The Citizens Of Taunton On The Proposed Constitution"" is a book written by John Gorham Palfrey in 1853. The book contains two separate works, the first being a critique of the proposed state constitution of Massachusetts, and the second an address to the citizens of Taunton regarding the same topic. In the first work, Palfrey analyzes the proposed constitution and provides his opinions on its strengths and weaknesses. He argues that the constitution is flawed in several ways, including its lack of provisions for the protection of individual rights and its inadequate representation of the people in the government. Palfrey also suggests changes that could be made to improve the document. The second work is an address specifically directed to the citizens of Taunton, Massachusetts. Palfrey discusses the proposed constitution in the context of the town and provides his views on how it would impact the local community. He urges citizens to carefully consider the document and to voice their opinions on it.Overall, ""Remarks On The Proposed State Constitution And An Address To The Citizens Of Taunton On The Proposed Constitution"" is a historical work that provides insight into the political climate of Massachusetts in the mid-19th century.
