The book ""Theosophy and Christianity"" by Ernest R. Hull is a comparative study of the two spiritual paths. Theosophy is a spiritual philosophy that seeks to understand the nature of the universe and the purpose of human existence through direct experience and intuition. Christianity is a religion that is centered around the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. In this book, Hull explores the similarities and differences between these two spiritual paths. He examines the core beliefs of each, including the nature of God, the afterlife, and the purpose of human existence. Hull also looks at the practices and rituals of each tradition, including prayer, meditation, and worship.Throughout the book, Hull emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting different spiritual paths. He argues that both Theosophy and Christianity offer valuable insights into the nature of reality and the human experience. By exploring the similarities and differences between these two paths, readers can gain a deeper appreciation for the diversity of spiritual traditions and the many ways in which people seek to understand the world around them.Overall, ""Theosophy and Christianity"" is a thoughtful and thought-provoking exploration of two important spiritual paths. It offers readers a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between these traditions and encourages them to explore their own spiritual beliefs and practices. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. These papers were originally written for the columns of theB ombay Catholic Examiner in which they appeared during the course of 1904. They were occasioned by the recent appearance of two articles on Theosophy in the magazine East and West and were addressed to Indian readers, especially toP arsees, some of whom took a good deal of interest in them. Theosophy has not many adherents in this country, but it has some, and its hypothesis of Reincarnation is not unfrequently discussed. But what is of much more consequence, the Problem of Evil, which Theosophy is an attempt to solve, is one of the most burning of questions for those who take interest in the reasons which people allege for the loss of their faith. It is because Father Hull discusses this question in so able and instructive, and at the same time so temperate, a way, that his little volume seems I likely to prove acceptable toE nglish readers. The original form of newspaper articles, with the Parsi gentlemans letter included, has been preserved, as It may perhaps be found pleasing rather than otherwise. S. F. S.
