If it should give pleasure to or interest the friends who have appreciated my work, or even bring those who have misunderstood it to a better understanding, and especially if it prove helpful to any young girl whose ambition it is to take up an artistic career, I shall feel most amply rewarded. I shall feel that I was justified in braving criticism on the score of the premature publication of even so brief an outline as this of my lifes work. M. A.
