Abraham Kuyper was a Dutch Reformed Church Minister who rose to become prime minister of the Netherlands. He left the Dutch Reformed Church over the issue of its growing liberalism, and he founded a newspaper, De Standaard, in support of orthodox theology. Kuyper's view that God is active in our everyday lives remains influential to this day. In 1898 Abraham Kuyper was invited to deliver the L. P. Stone Foundation lectures at Princeton Theological Seminary. Kuyper addressed not detailed theological arguments but rather the Calvinist ethos and its place in lifea as a whole.
