In presenting the second edition of this work, it is the aim of the author to follow the plan of the first edition, in that it be concise and yet cover a wide field in operative dentistry. The book has been thoroughly rewritten and extensively illustrated. Four new chapters have been added, several have been materially enlarged, and others eliminated entirely in this edition. There is a complete rearrangement of the chapters which it is believed will more nearly coincide with the progress of the student through his technical work and the operatory. W. C. D.
