The First Lesson in theM orning Service is selected from the historical books of theO ld Testament, on the principle of conveying an outline of the sacred history; and the First Lesson in theE vening Service is taken from the prophetical writings, the order of the canon being followed throughout. The Second Lesson is taken from the Gospels in theM orning, and from theE pistles in theE vening Service. The Table for the First Year is to be used in those years of which the number is odd, as 1895-97, c.; the Table for theS econd Year in those of which the number is even, as 1896-98, c.
