Sherwin Memorial. -- Dear Sir :T he Sherwin Memorial Committee have received, in response to their Circular of November last, suggestions and contributions from about one hundred pupils of the School, and have unanimously voted, after lull discussion of the subject, to attempt the collection of $7,000, with which to found a Thomas Sherwin Scholarship in the Institute of Technology, and to provide a Bust and Mural Tablet for theschool building. The Scholarship will perpetually provide, in Mr. Sherwin sname, for the free education of any one deserving poor English High School scholar; while the Bust and Tablet will serve to keep continually before the pupils of the School, the features and services of one who did so much to render his charge the model school of A merica. The Committee confidently present this plan for the generous support of the past pupils of the School; and, in distributing the copies of Mr. Waterston slate address upon the life and character of Mr. Sherwin, trust that its perusal will lead such as have not already done so, to make without delay, such contribution as they may be able, towards a testimonial so deserved.
