God has shewn us, in reestablishing the purity of his Gospel in the midst of us, we should not think ourselves bound to give him everlasting thanks. So great and precious an advantage ought to be deeply felt, and whilst we enjoy it with delight, we should pay our acknowledgments to the Author of it. But what ground soever we should have to rejoice in God, we must notwithstanding avow, that we should be very insensible in regard of others, if we could behold, without an extreme affliction, the misery of so many people who voluntarily deprive themselves of that good.
