Latin verbs are divided into four classes, called conjugations. 2. The third conjugation includes all verbs that have the characteristic vowel -e before the present infinitive ending -re: as, rege-re, to rule. 5. The fourth conjugation includes all verbs that have the characteristic vowel -i before the present infinitive ending -re: as, audi-re, to hear. Exercise.
