Nine-tenths of the amateur scenario writers of today have studied books on the subject. Technically, a great many of the scenarios received show careful study. But most of them lack inspiration and originality. The writers have failed to make living, breathing human beings of their characters. The book has an introduction by Florence Hull Winterburn, who says of it that it sets forth the principles of scenario writing not from a theoretical but from a practical standpoint, omitting nothing vital to the topic and dwelling with particular emphasis upon those parts o it that are most obscure to beginners.
