Some apologist for the Russian Church, finding no other mode for its reconciliation before God and man, might quote Queen Catherine sphrase and lay the blame of its pitiful failure also, upon such abstractions asS pace and Time. There would be no Laesa Majestas in that, no danger of exile, and the words could be spoken with great impressiveness.
