The aim of this volume is sufficiently indicated in the following prospectus, which was issued at the close of the year 1886. Through the Wordsworth Country, by Harry Goodwin and Professor Knight. Under the above title a volume will be issued early in the spring of 1887, including those Poems of Wordsworth which contain topographical allusions to the English Lake District, with fifty-six engravings from drawings expressly made for this Work by Mr. Harry Goodwin, and letterpress by William Knight, Professor at the University of St. A ndrews. The object of the book is to illustrate the scenes and localities most closely connected with Wordsworth spoetical work. Many of these scenes are undergoing changes, that in a few years will render their connexion with the poems obscure, and difficult to trace ;and, it is with the hope of preserving some permanent record of what is still unchanged, that the present work has been undertaken.
