Synopsis

This collection of 30 short stories is the third to be published by Neil Butter, a retired lawyer. In them, things are rarely what they seem and the frequent twists are guaranteed to cause surprise or even shock. Some stories are absurdly funny, others more serious but with a strong undercurrent of humour. So the reader will soon be laughing at tales involving an obstinate sat-nav, a husband and wife who like playing with fire, a victorious bull (or was it?), a vicar out of his depth, an alarming guest at a B&B, a police officer who finds pleasure in massaging figures, a dentist`s love-life, strange customs on a remote island, a gay dog, and a puzzled ghost. And 20 others! ‘Witty, irreverent and very funny,’ a critic said of one of the previous collections. The same, and more, can be said of this one.
