Thomas M. Connolly was Head of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Paisley (now the University of the West of Scotland) for many years and now runs his own database and software consultancy house, DS Partnership.

Carolyn E. Begg worked at the University of the West of Scotland for decades as coordinator and lecturer of core and advanced database topics across all computing programmes and now supports third-sector organisations on their data management practices.
