Présentation de l'éditeur

This work is an attempt to offer, in brief form, a comparative and somewhat critical study of the views of Mr. F. H. Bradley and Professor Bernard Bosanquet on the subject, Thought, Existence and Raal y. The problem of the relation of thought and reality occupies a place so much at the center of metaphysics that one finds it quite impossible to treat the views of such able and voluminous writers as Mr. Bradley and Professor Bosanquet without some reference to the philosophical positions of Subjectivism, Neo-R ealism, Pragmatism, and Pluralism, positions more or less in opposition to the Neo-H egelianism of Mr. Bradley and Professor Bosanquet. The writer has tried to make explicit, as much as space would permit, the exact relation of these positions to Mr. Bradley and Professor Bosanquet on the problem at issue, but has been forced to make this aspect of the work entirely subordinate to the main theme. In addition to the works of Mr. Bradley and Professor Bosanquet, and of others, quoted herein, the writer has gathered much help for interpretation and criticism from numerous articles in Mind and in The Philosophical Review. The references to Mr. Bradley and Professor Bosanquet sworks are in every case to the latest editions.
