Synopsis
Ellis Hord is an investment banker trying to put together the deal of his life when his complicated past catches up with him. Before his Wall Street job, before he'd gone to law school, Ellis worked as a police officer and sent the son of a Russian crime boss ---Nicholai---to jail. Nicholai is now out for revenge, and has hired an assassin to brutally murder Ellis, his Manhattan ADA wife, his former partner (now a police commissioner in Pennsylvania), and even the Hord family dog. Ellis's story is interwoven with that of his wife, Maggie, who works with the NYPD prosecuting violent felonies. She discovers that a serial rapist-murderer preying on Wall Street call girls just might be connected to the head of Ellis' bank. As the storylines intertwine and unfold they ultimately collide to produce a complex, yet thrilling tale.
