The book describes a way to quantitatively compare engineering with other candidate careers; it shows the schooling requirements, and discusses how to determine if you are a "fit" for a career in engineering. The book ends with a chapter on how engineers are needed to solve the current global warming energy issues. It is written by a practicing engineer with significant experience in manufacturing (automobile, chemical process) as well as two decades in research and testing of engineering materials.
