In Passing, poet Sherry Bevins Darrell masterfully weaves together personal reflections and universal themes. Her poems traverse landscapes both intimate and vast, from quiet moments with loved ones to the storied battlefields of Shiloh. With each verse, Darrell explores the delicate balance between life and loss, love and solitude, and the passage of time that shapes us all. Her experiences as a professor and world traveler add depth to her keen observations, particularly in the richly textured "Among Orcadians" and the tender "Two Tough Old Texas Broads." Passing invites readers to pause and reflect on the fleeting nature of moments, relationships, and histories, offering a blend of wit, poignancy, and grace. For anyone seeking poetry that resonates with the quiet power of life's transitions, this collection will be a deeply rewarding read.
