(2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. The chapters on the Koran, the Persian Miracle Play, and theS abians, are reprinted by permission from theE dinburgh Review; that on anE astern Eeformation from theS aturday Review; while the first three appeared in my introduction to Lane sS elections from the Kur-an, and are republished with Messrs.
