Allison B. Kaufman is Research Scientist with the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point.

Meredith J. Bashaw is Professor in the Department of Psychology at Franklin and Marshall College, Pennsylvania.

Terry L. Maple is Smithgall-Watts Professor Emeritus at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Professor-in-Residence at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. He was previously CEO of Zoo Atlanta and the Palm Beach Zoo, and the elected president of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
