Excerpt from Freemasonry in Michigan, Vol. 1: A Comprehensive History of Michigan Masonry From Its Earliest Introduction in 1764

This important decision changed entirely the face of the society and transformed it into what we find it to-day; but many diffities had to be removed, and many years of probation had to be passed, before this form of its workings could be successfully adopted.
